Looking for kids swimming lessons in Singapore? Swimwerks Academy offers SwimSafer-certified swimming classes for children from age 3, taught by coaches certified by the National Registry of Coaches (NROC), SSI and AustSwim. Classes are available at all ActiveSG pools and condominiums islandwide, as well as our own pools at Nordcom 1, Sembawang and Civil Service Club Tessensohn.
We offer two structured programmes based on your child’s age, toddler classes for ages 3 to 4, and kids SwimSafer classes for ages 5 and above. Private lessons are also available from age 3, at public pools or your condo pool. All group classes are kept small at 4 to 6 students per coach, so every child gets the attention they need to progress.

Kids Swimming Lessons by Age Group
Swimwerks runs two dedicated kids swimming programmes based on your child’s age and stage:
Swimming Classes for Toddlers — Age 3 to 4 | 45 Minutes
Our toddler swimming classes are fun, engaging sessions designed to nurture your child’s character and build water comfort at their own pace. Through games and activities, toddlers learn to feel at ease in the pool without pressure.
Developed in collaboration with SwimSafer and Swim Schools International (SSI), this programme is curated specifically for young children aged 3 to 4, giving them the best possible start in the water.
What toddlers learn:
- Water familiarisation and comfort
- Basic floating and kicking movements
- Confidence in and around the pool
- Water safety awareness through play
Swimming Classes for Kids — Age 5 and Above | 45 Minutes
For children aged 5 and above, Swimwerks offers structured group swimming lessons following the national SwimSafer 6-stage syllabus. Our experienced coaches prioritise building water confidence, learning water safety and achieving comfort in the water through repetition and positive reinforcement.
Your child will gain the skills and confidence to stay safe in and around the water — progressing through each SwimSafer stage at their own ability level, with a certificate and badge awarded upon completing each stage.

SWIMSAFER PROGRAMME
SwimSafer Programme — Offered at Swimwerks
All Swimwerks kids swimming classes are taught according to the SwimSafer Syllabus — Singapore’s national water safety programme, recognised by the Ministry of Education (MOE), Singapore Aquatics and ActiveSG.
The SwimSafer programme is structured into 6 progressive stages, covering swimming technique, water safety and survival skills. Upon completing each stage, your child receives an official SwimSafer certificate and badge.
Swimwerks is an accredited SwimSafer provider. Our coaches are certified by NROC, SSI and AustSwim and trained internally to deliver the programme safely and effectively.
GROUP VS PRIVATE
Group Swimming Classes
Our group swimming lessons are conducted in small groups of 4 to 6 students per coach. This is a more cost-effective option where your child will:
- Learn and interact with peers, building social skills and friendships
- See others progress, staying motivated to push themselves
- Benefit from friendly competition that keeps lessons fun and engaging
Private Swimming Classes
Our private swimming lessons are fully customised to your child’s individual skill level, objective and pace. Each student receives a personalised lesson plan for a comfortable and enjoyable learning experience, and faster progress than a group class.
Private lessons are especially recommended for:
- Children who are afraid of water, closely monitored so they learn without feeling pressured
- Children who want to progress faster
- Children with specific learning needs or goals

What to Expect at Your Child’s First Swimming Lesson
Here is exactly what happens in your child’s first 45-minute session at Swimwerks:
Step 1 — Break the Ice (5 mins) The coach introduces themselves and gets your child comfortable before entering the pool.
Step 2 — Assessment (10 mins) The coach evaluates your child’s water comfort level and current swimming ability to plan the right approach.
Step 3 — Learn a New Skill (15 mins) Personalised instruction based on the assessment — your child starts learning at the right level for them.
Step 4 — Fun & Games (10 mins) The new skill is reinforced through engaging water activities and play, keeping the lesson enjoyable.
Step 5 — Recap & Conclude (5 mins) The coach summarises what was covered and discusses next steps with the parent.
