Over the course of 2 Months, participants will engage in both classroom learning and hands-on pool sessions, focusing on child development, water safety, and effective teaching techniques tailored to babies and toddlers.

1. Theory (Self-Paced via SSI App)
To Complete Before Physical Course:
Delivered through the MySSI app, this module provides the foundational knowledge swim teachers need:
- Introduction to Swim Instruction for Children and Babies

- Aquatic Safety Principles and Risk Management
- Instructor Ethics and Student-Centered Teaching
2. 2-Day Physical Course
Day 1: Classroom – Teaching Theory & Safety
Duration: ~6 Hours

- Overview of Role & Responsibilities of a swim teacher
- Child Development Basics – cognitive, physical, and emotional readiness
- Effective Communication – engaging with kids and parents
- Water Safety Protocols – including emergency scenarios

Day 2: In-Water Practical Application

3. On-the-Job Training

Trainees will be attached to actual Swimwerks classes. Each session is guided by a certified mentor.
During Attachments, Candidates Will:
- Observe certified swim instructors at work
- Assist in managing baby/toddler groups
- Conduct selected teaching segments (progressively increasing responsibility)
- Receive feedback on communication, safety, and class management
4. Final Evaluation
Candidates will be assessed in two parts:
Theory Evaluation
- Written quiz based on SSI materials and course content
Practical Assessment
- Deliver a full class to actual students (babies/toddlers)
- Evaluated on:
- Class structure and safety
- Communication with child and parent
- Demonstration of proper teaching techniques
